Turn a blind eye=Hacer la vista gorda, mirar para otro lado.

Management often turns a blind eye to bullying in the workplace: Con frecuencia la dirección hace la vista gorda ante el acoso en el trabajo.

Economically, it's madness to cut off valuable students from China and India for the sake of hitting a meaningless "net" migration statistic.
